Compare the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro vs Other Years

The most significant changes that the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro has compared to the last year’s versions are the number of available trims for both the coupe and the convertible as well as the prices of each of these. The 2012 models are more expensive compared to their predecessors.

The 2011 Camaro convertible has 4 available trims while the 2012 version has 2. The 2011 Camaro coupe has 5 trims while the latest model has only 3 trims. This could mean that Chevrolet has decided to drop some of the excess trim options from the last year and focus to only a few this year.

Compare the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Styles

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro is offered as a coupe or convertible. Each of these has their own trim levels that buyers could choose from. However, the number of available trims was reduced compare to that of the previous version. The Camaro convertible has two trims for the 2012 version and this includes the “LT” and the “SS” trims.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro LT is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine connected to a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. The SS trim of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro convertible is powered by a larger 6.2-liter V8 engine mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro coupe just like the convertible is available if fewer trims compared to its predecessors. The available trims for the latest version of the coupe are the base version or the “LS,” the “LT,” and the “SS.”

The “LS” serves as the base model for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and this is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. The LT trim uses a larger 3.6-liter engine with a standard six-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. The “SS” coupe version on the other hand uses a 6.2-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
