Pricing of the 2014 Dodge Durango Announced

Chrysler has recently announced the latest pricing information of the 2014 Dodge Durango and hinted that the prices of the high-end models have increased.

Based on Chrysler’s announcement, the price of the base version of the 2014 Dodge Durango SXT will start at $30,790 including the shipping charge of $995. The current price reflects no increase compared to the price of the 2013 model. However, Chrysler stressed that despite of the lack of increase on the price of the base the company has decided to boost the prices of the high-end trims. Unfortunately, Chrysler refused to provide the major reasons for the increase.

Instead, the carmaker revealed that the high-performance version of the SUV which is the 2014 Dodge Durango R/T will be sold at a starting price of $39,990 including the destination charge of $995. When compared to the price of the 2013 version, the upcoming model could be considered as a more expensive option since the difference between the prices of the two versions is around $2,500.

Chrysler has also shared that the price of the top-of-the-line version of the SUV which is the 2014 Dodge Durango Citadel will start at $41,990 including the destination charge of $995. This price reflects a $1,000 increase. The carmaker also relayed that the new midrange model which is the 2014 Dodge Durango Limited will hit the dealerships with a starting price of $36,990.

When compared to one of its closest domestic competitor which is the base 2014 Ford Explorer FWD, the 2014 Dodge Durango is regarded as a more expensive option since the former is sold at a starting price of $30,495 including the destination charge of $895. The price difference of the two models therefore is around $295.

Aside from the Ford Explorer, the Durango is also more expensive compared to the 2013 Honda Pilot which is offered with a starting price of $30,350 including the destination charge of $830.

When compared to another competitor which is the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse LS FWD, the base version of the Durango is cheaper by about $880 since the starting price of the Traverse is at $31,760 including the destination charge of $875.
