Buick has finally confirmed that all of vehicles included on the brand’s 2013 lineup will be offered with the IntelliLink infotainment system as one of its standard features.
Given this confirmation, a lot of car experts are quite convinced that Buick might have been realized that all of its vehicles should include the IntelliLink system as one of its standard items since most of its competitors are doing such. Ford’s Lincoln division which is considered as Buick’s closest rival for example are selling the MKZ and MKS models with the standard Sync and this is included on the brand’s MyLincoln Touch system.
Aside from that, Buick’s move to offer the IntelliLink infotainment system as a standard item in its lineup for 2013 was also triggered by the brand’s commitment in reducing the number of vehicular accidents caused by distracted driving.
Buick’s IntelliLink system could possibly help reduce the number of vehicular accidents caused by distracted driving by allowing the driver of Buick vehicles to focus their full attention in driving and at the same time stay connected with the outside world. This particular scenario is possible with the IntelliLink system since this could be operated using voice commands. Thus, the driver would only provide the needed voice commands instead of reducing his or her attention driving.
Aside from performing specific functions using the voice-activated commands, the IntelliLink system is also capable of receiving and making phone calls using the vehicle’s speakers. Thus, the driver could actually talk to the caller while driving the vehicle. In addition to this, the system could also provide enables the driver to listen to music files while driving, obtain the latest weather and traffic updates through Sirius XM radio, and at the same time import files using the thumb drive for the USB.
The IntelliLink system has already made its official debut as a standard feature on the Buick Verano. This could also be found in a number of models such as the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and the 2013 Buick Regal.
Since the move to offer the IntelliLink infotainment system as a standard item in all of the vehicles included on Buick’s lineup for the next year was finalized, those who are interested in purchasing the vehicles marketed by the brand could expect that this feature would be readily available upon purchase.
