Toyota New Car Invoice Pricing, Financing and Dealerships

The 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid is not the first hybrid vehicle that Toyota has made. But this is the first time it will be in a vehicle of this size. It is also not the first sedan to offer a hybrid as Honda beat Toyota to that in 2004. With gas prices starting to soar, it's nice to see Toyota moving in this direction for its most popular sedan. The MSRP for the new Camry will be $25,900, not the lowest but not the highest priced Camry either.

The Camry Hybrid will get 40 miles per gallon versus a standard Camry, which gets between 26 and 28 depending on the engine. Part of the hybrid engine is a 147 horsepower version of the standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine in other Camrys. The rest is a 105-kW electric motor with 244-volt battery pack that gives a 45 horsepower boost to the engine. The total horsepower with the two combined will be 192. A standard Camry engine is only 158. And to make the engine even more attractive, the Camry Hybrid will go from 0 to 60 in about 9.4 seconds, which is almost a whole second faster than the Prius, Toyota’s first hybrid engine. The best part is that the hybrid engine will let the consumer drive about 700 miles between fill-ups on one tank of gas. What is really neat thing about the hybrid engine is that it is being made in Georgetown, Kentucky and thus will be the first Toyota hybrid built in the United States.

Wanted features for the Hybrid Camry include a tire-pressure monitoring system, which will help with optimization for better fuel economy. Bluetooth connectivity, a 440-watt premium audio system, smart keyless entry, push-button starting, halogen headlights, and dual climate control are other standard features. Options for those who want more include moonroof, voice-activated navigation system, leather-trimmed interior, and heated seats. And what hybrid wouldn't be complete without an in-dash multi-function trip computer?

The Camry Hybrid is due to dealers mid-summer. These will be produced for Japan first and in October production will begin in the Georgetown, Kentucky plant. The rate will be about 4,000 per month. The goal for total is to have 15 percent of its Camry sales to be the new hybrid. With the rising gas prices this may well be within reason. More people are conscious about gasoline costs and are looking into purchasing hybrids, so Toyota should have an advantage.
