Cadillac New Car Invoice Pricing, Financing and Dealerships

The new 2007 Cadillac Escalade is going to offer more performance, more luxury, and more "bling" than its 2006 predecessor. This may not make it a big seller for the 2006 selling year with gas prices up and large SUV sales down, but since Cadillac has over a third of the market out there, they are going to take a chance that it will. The new Escalade was available starting in February 2006 and the starting price is $57,280. Cadillac has claimed that the new Escalade is totally redesigned for the new year and that people will still flock to own one.

The biggest difference is that the 2007 Escalade gets better gas mileage than previous years. With the gas prices getting higher and less people wanting to drive big, gas-guzzling vehicles, this may be a saving point for Cadillac. It also has a new 403 horsepower engine, 22-inch wheels and a huge grill. Gas mileage is improved to 17-mpg highway and 13 cities, which doesn’t sound like much, except that it's on a 2500 pound vehicle.

The 2007 Cadillac is redesigned on the outside with sharp angles, and a similarity to a family sedan. The bumpers are now attached to the body, instead of the frame as in past models. And there is a lot more chrome on the Escalade than in the past. From the grill to the fender vents to the side molding, the bling is obvious. Yet, it's not overdone to make the SUV look gaudy.

While the Escalade isn't really any different on the outside in terms of size, it did get a makeover underneath. The 2007 Escalade sits on a full-boxed frame with hydroformed rails in the front and rear. And bending rigidity is about 35 percent better than the 2006 models and the torsional rigidity is 49 percent better. Now the 2007 model is slightly longer than previous years, 3.5 inches to be exact, but the wheelbase, width and height are the same as the 2006 version. For better handling and a smoother ride than the 2006 Escalade, the front track is 3 inches wider and the rear track is 1 inch taller. And the torsion bar has been replaced with a coil-over-shock design with a 36mm stabilizer bar. To make it safer, a new brake system was designed with larger rotors and stiffer front calipers. And it will even boast a rollover avoidance feature that will activate automatically if necessary to keep the vehicle from rolling over.
